PADILLA FIRE DOORS receives the MD Award for Internationalisation

More than 200 people attended the ceremony for the third edition of the Murcia Diario Awards. The gala was held at the Nelva Hotel on 25 November, where Puertas Padilla was honoured with the MD Award for Internationalisation in recognition of its outstanding track record in the global market.

Among those attending were some of the most prominent figures from the Region of Murcia’s economic and business community, including Miguel Ángel Miralles González-Conde, First Vice-President of the Regional Assembly; Marcos Ortuño, Regional Minister for the Presidency; Marisa López, Regional Minister for Enterprise; Sara Rubira, Regional Minister for Agriculture; Joaquín Gómez, Director of INFO; José Guillén, Deputy Mayor of Murcia; Miguel López Abad and Ramón Avilés, President and Secretary General of CROEM, respectively; Ana Correa, President of COEC; Miriam Fuertes, President of the Murcia Chamber of Commerce; and José María Gómez Fuster, Director of the Port Authority of Cartagena, among others.

The award was presented by Miguel López Abad to the company’s CEO, Ginés Padilla. During his speech, he stated that receiving the award was “an honour” and that it recognises the company’s “effort”. Puertas Padilla’s international journey began in the 1990s and gained further momentum in 1994 with the founding of Puertas Padilla Portugal. The company now has 11 subsidiaries outside Spain and four production facilities, two of them located in the Region of Murcia.

The company also markets its products in 60 countries. As Ginés Padilla himself explained, its doors can be found “all over the world”, including in Mecca and the Vatican, as well as in stadiums such as the Santiago Bernabéu and the home ground of Paris Saint-Germain, major airports and hotels, the Panama Canal and even Chernobyl, which has now become its “most emblematic” project.

Finally, the company’s CEO highlighted the role played by the “600 people who make up the group”, as well as those “who are no longer with us”, as everyone has contributed, in one way or another, to making Puertas Padilla what it is today.

The award recognises Puertas Padilla’s ability to lead the sector and establish itself as a global benchmark.
