Pope Leo receives Gines Padilla, committed to solidarity projects in Peru

The president of Puertas Padilla reaffirms before the Pontiff the company’s humanitarian commitment in Peru, focused on education, children and social development.

Gines Padilla, president of Puertas Padilla, was received by Pope Leo XIV during the General Audience held in St. Peter’s Square. The meeting, of great human and spiritual value, allowed the Spanish businessman to share with the Holy Father the company’s commitment to international solidarity and social development in Peru, a country especially dear to the Pontiff, who spent more than twenty years there as a pastoral missionary in various positions.

During the audience, Gines Padilla wanted to pay tribute to the Holy Father by presenting him with a photographic book that reflects the experience and commitment of Puertas Padilla in the South American country. The company’s work in Peru goes far beyond its role as a leader in the security and fire protection sector. Puertas Padilla is actively involved in social responsibility projects, supporting the most vulnerable groups, with special attention to children.

Among the initiatives promoted by the Spanish company is its support for the Vida Wasi Pediatric Hospital, to which it has donated fire doors that have made possible the completion of the new surgical center, which will soon be inaugurated. In addition, Padilla Doors supports the right to education by providing learning opportunities and school supplies to young people living in foster homes. The company also devotes special attention to Andean communities in the Cusco region, where it supports social development projects aimed at ensuring more dignified living conditions and access to essential services.
“The meeting with Pope Leo was a deeply moving moment,” declared Gines Padilla. “Our commitment in Peru stems from the desire to give back a part of what we have received, placing the person and human dignity at the center of our action. We believe that every gesture of solidarity can contribute to building a better future, based on education, work and hope.”
